Does screen on HDTV connected to a PC look right (in aspect ratio)?
I am looking for an HDTV (720p) to be connected to PC to watch movies (using PC RGB cable). I wonder if the picture would look right without being stretched or squeezed.
If the TV's resolution is 1024x768 (some cheaper models), I suspect the picture might look stretched because PC's 1024x768 resolution is 3:4 ratio.
If the TV's resolution is 1366x768, what is the PC video mode going to be, 1280x720, 1024x768 or something else? Note that most video adapters do not support 1366x768 resolution.
What do you get if you use an s-video cable (my second choice to RGB cable)?
What if the TV's resolution is 1280x720 (as many rear projection HDTVs)?
Is some brand (or model) better than others at handling PC video?
I would like to hear some real life experiences.
It would help me choose the right HDTV.
I guess I did not make myself clear.
What I am concerned about is if the circle on computer monitor would look circle on TV instead of looking oval.
I have never seen a full screen picture from any computer.....most look like they fill about 3/4 of the screen and are surrounded by a black frame on all 4 sides....
